Welcome to The Ken Bridge Hotel

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS HOTEL NOW ONLY PROVIDES MEALS FOR HOTEL RESIDENTS.
Hello and welcome to a rather different Ken Bridge Hotel. Since reopening after COVID, we have taken a slightly different path and the hotel is now being run more on a bed, breakfast, and evening meal basis.

What does this mean for our guests?
Well, our rooms are just as lovely and kept to the same standards whilst abiding by COVID cleaning rules. We have a slightly smaller but eclectic menu which is served 5.30 - 7.45 pm. We are no longer open at lunchtimes or throughout the day, but the biggest change is that we are now only serving food to our hotel guests, and not to the caravan site and/or the general public.

We understand the disappointment that this has created for many of our non-resident visitors, but it is really not possible for us to provide for everyone at this time.

MASK POLICY
We understand that rules are different in each country of the UK, but in Scotland you are still required to wear a mask in a public building. You must therefore, wear a mask whilst entering and moving around the hotel. If this is something that you object to, then please do not enter as you will be refused service. Proof of medical exemption will be required

The Ken Bridge, a 10 bedroom Georgian hotel, has a spectacular river bank location close by Loch Ken, in an area renowned for its tranquility and picturesque views. This 18th Century Coaching Inn was originally built to provide food, ale and shelter for travelers and coaches on the Old Edinburgh Road between Ireland and Edinburgh.

The hotel is a superb centre for fishing, golfing, hill walking, cycling on the surrounding quiet country roads, mountain biking on the world famous 7 Stanes routes, bird watching, photography, clay pigeon shooting, field and water-sports or for simply relaxing and taking in the wonderful scenery.

We are on the edge of the UNESCO Dark Skies Park created in 2009, which at the time was the only one in Britain and only the 5th worldwide. The river beside the hotel is a seasonal host to Osprey, Kingfisher and Oyster Catcher, there is also a healthy population of Otter and the hotel gardens receive regular visits from Red Squirrels. Early risers may see deer in the meadows across the river, as well as fox and badger.

The woodland to the west of the hotel is used as a roost by up to as many as 35 Red Kite which frequently soar and wheel spectacularly over the hotel.

The Ken Bridge is a family run hotel, the owners of which have local connections reaching back through many generations. The ethos of the hotel is to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible in the most tranquil of surroundings.

The hotel has a well stocked, traditional bar serving cask ales and fine malts.

The restaurant is noted for its good, well presented meals using locally sourced fresh produce wherever possible.

“ Really enjoyed our meal. Proper pub food was just what we needed and this didn't disappoint. The staff went out of their way to open doors and get a highchair for our little one. The place was clean and reasonably priced.”

Rachael MacLeod

"Everything was really good from the staff, facilities, atmosphere & mostly the good. The children's ice cream with miniature smarties, wafer & chocolate sauce went down a treat with our daughter.
Definitely will return in the future if over in that direction."

David Harkness

"Stopped by on the off chance of food and were blown away! We are lactose intolerant and the menu was very easy to navigate for all allergies, the owners even went the extra mile to make sure we had a desert,
not something we are used to!"

Ben Jones

"Had a Sunday roast there today, it was first class and would recommend, welcome and service was really good and coffee by the river (about ten yards from the restaurant) was so peaceful and beautiful."
